African souls by Manuela Kulpa.

A gorgeous series of animal portraits with special post production color treatment by the German duo Manuela Kulpa and Stefan Kulpa.

We see photography as our contribution to presenting the beauty of nature – but from our point of view. In doing so we have concentrated a lot of our efforts on fauna found in zoos, wildlife parks, aquaria and terraria. Our photography is primarily concerned with endangered species. Flora and fauna has always interested us. Our love for animals has grown very much over the years through photography. Our favorite animals above all are simians, especially great apes, but also big cats. Unfortunately, many species are very limited in their habitat and in some cases are threatened by extinction, due to over exploitation and other environmental crimes.

I asked the Zebra, are you black with white stripes? Or white with black stripes? And the zebra asked me: Are you good with bad habits? Or are you bad with good habits? Are you noisy with quiet times? Or are you quiet with noisy times? Are you happy with some sad days? Or are you sad with some happy days? Are you neat with some sloppy ways? Or are you sloppy with some neat ways? And on and on and on and on and on and on he went. I’ll never ask a zebra about stripes...again (Shel Silverstein) There is no more fun loving, yet tempermental animal on the plain than the zebra :o)!

Never argue with an idiot, because that means lowering yourself to a level at which they're most at home.
